Chris Cornell said that one of the dilemmas that is pretty common to a lot of people who are getting older, is the idea that maybe there’s a finish line, and that maybe there’s a time in your life when you start to slow down and smell the roses, and just kind of settle into what will be a comfortable period in your life.
Thus, mixed feelings arose prior to this day, I didn’t know if I should be happy or sad that I’m turning 25, it feels as if I’ve reached the prime of my life. Now, I wanted to be cliche and pen down 25 things I’ve learnt so far LOL, but I figured I’d do something different.
One day I was surfing the web as usual, and I came across a lady’s page (can’t recall the name) who stated that she was passing on a memory book among-st 25 of her friends to write down certain memories of her. So, I had a “light bulb moment” and decided to filter it to my specifications, whereby I pick 25 of my friends ranging from secondary school till now and ask them one question related to the positive and negative side of my personality.
P.S. pardon the squishiness*
As expected, each had different views which made me measure my personality growth. There were some comments that shocked me a bit, most positively because I didn’t feel I portrayed certain amazing traits but then it made me appreciate them more for even noticing characters I wasn’t aware of…yet.
Although I have learned that the more we grow the less our circle of friends get because not everyone can go with you on your journey, but I’m truly thankful for the friendships I have. Every single one is a gift.
If there’s anything significant I’ve learnt in the past few years, it is to enjoy and appreciate every stage in your life. There’s a season for everything and in due time, your season will come.
Hence, I’m embracing this new chapter of my life with all the positivism I can muster and hoping that it will bloom.
Happy Birthday To Me!
